Moss began his performance career as a musician composing and performing in Dunedin. This led him to study acting at The New Zealand College of Performing Arts and then on to study dance and choreography at UNITEC Performing Arts School in Auckland.

For the past ten years Moss has danced and choreographed for Black Grace Dance Company, Footnote Dance, Touch Compass and Atamira Dance Collective.

Performances with Black Grace include Soul Power, Fia Ola, Our Back Yard, Heartland Tour with The NZSO, Urban Youth movement, New Works 2000, Black Grace and Friends. With Footnote he taught and performed in their Over the Moon and Flying High seasons, and with Atamira he performed in Mauri by senior Maori choreographer Tipene Bradshaw and further performances at the Pacific International Arts Festival in Palau, Micronesia that included Moss’s own choreographic work.

Choreographies include Raving Fad and Koru for Black Grace, Manawa for Touch Compass, Pitau, Te Ngaru, Kura, kokowai and kokowai#2 for Footnote Dance, Tonu and Te Whenua for Pacifica Fashion Awards, Te Paki and Whakairo for Atamira Dance Collective. Moss was awarded Best Choreography by TEMPO Dance Festival and Best New Choreographer in the NZ Listener 2007 for Whakairo.

Moss has also been the recipient of the CNZ Tup Lang dance scholarship with Atamira Dance and also the Te Whakahaungia choreographic award by Toi Maori Aotearoa.

While maintaining his passion for choreography, Moss is ATAMIRA's Executive Director, and is dad to two beautiful little girls.
